Caching only helps while it is switched on. A developer disables it during a fix, forgets to re-enable it, and the store is suddenly three times slower for no visible reason. Cache status is on our checklist every time someone reports a slow site.

Common questions

It is usually configuration rather than raw power: caching turned off, slow disks, poor database parameters or a plugin firing hundreds of queries per page. Profiling finds the culprit before you pay for extra cores.

For a catalogue of a few thousand products and moderate traffic, no - everything runs happily on one machine. Splitting makes sense for larger stores where the web tier and database start fighting over memory.

No, and there is no need. Shopify and cloud Bitrix24 are hosted by their vendors. Our hosting is for platforms you run yourself, such as WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Shopware and the self-hosted edition of Bitrix24.

The database at least daily, and several times a day for a busy shop, because even a few hours of lost orders hurt. Files change less often and are fine with a daily backup.
